Efficacy of Lidocaine in Dogs Undergoing Rhinoscopy
Evaluation of three different routes of administration
The objective of this randomized clinical trial was to evaluate and compare the efficacy of three different routes of lidocaine administration in dogs: 1) bilateral infraorbital nerve block (INB); 2) bilateral topical intranasal application (TIA); and 3) intravenous bolus (IVB).
After premedication with medetomidine 0.01 mg kg-1 and methadone 0.2 mg kg-1 intramuscularly, anaesthesia was induced with propofol and maintained with isoflurane in oxygen.
